Welcome to Heartventures Retreat & Events (“Heartventures,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

Heartventures is a registered partnership in the Province of Nova Scotia, Canada.

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our website (www.heartventures.ca), registration for retreats and events, and any purchase of products or services from us.

By accessing our website or registering for a retreat, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms & Conditions.

If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.

1. Website Use

All materials on this website, including text, images, branding, videos, downloads, and retreat content, are owned by Heartventures and protected by Canadian copyright laws.

You may:

  • View content for personal, non-commercial use

You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or republish content

  • Use our materials for commercial purposes

  • Mirror or host our content elsewhere

2. Informational Purposes Only

Content on this website and at our retreats is provided for informational and inspirational purposes only.

We do not provide:

  • Medical advice

  • Psychological therapy

  • Legal advice

  • Financial advice

Participation in our retreats or use of our content is at your own risk.

You are responsible for consulting appropriate licensed professionals where necessary.

3. Retreat Registration & Payment

Registration for a retreat is confirmed only upon receipt of a deposit or full payment.

All prices are listed in Canadian dollars unless otherwise specified.

We reserve the right to:

  • Adjust pricing

  • Cancel retreats due to insufficient enrollment or unforeseen circumstances

  • Modify retreat schedules where necessary

4. Deposits & Refund Policy

Retreat deposits are non-refundable.

If you cancel:

  • More than 90 days prior to retreat start: payments (excluding deposit) may be transferred to a future retreat at our discretion.

  • Within 90 days: no refunds will be issued.

If Heartventures cancels a retreat:

  • You will receive a full refund of payments made to Heartventures.

  • We are not responsible for airfare, travel costs, or third-party expenses.

We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance.

5. Health & Personal Responsibility

By registering for a retreat, you confirm that:

  • You are physically and mentally able to participate.

  • You have disclosed relevant medical, dietary, mobility, or allergy information.

  • You understand retreats may include physical movement, travel, outdoor activities, and emotional exploration.

You voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation.

Heartventures is not responsible for:

  • Injuries

  • Illness

  • Emotional distress

  • Lost or stolen belongings

  • Travel disruptions

6. Assumption of Risk & Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and hold harmless Heartventures, its partners, facilitators, contractors, and affiliates from any claims arising from:

  • Personal injury

  • Property damage

  • Emotional harm

  • Travel-related incidents

  • Acts of third parties

  • Force majeure events (including weather, natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions)

This release applies whether participation is local or international.

7. Travel & International Retreats

Participants are responsible for:

  • Valid passports

  • Visas

  • Travel insurance

  • Medical insurance

  • Vaccinations (if required)

Heartventures is not liable for:

  • Border issues

  • Government travel advisories

  • Airline cancellations

  • Changes in local laws

8. Third-Party Providers

We partner with accommodations, chefs, transportation providers, and venues.

We are not liable for the acts, omissions, or negligence of third-party providers.

Your participation constitutes acceptance of this condition.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

Heartventures’ total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific retreat or service giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for:

  • Indirect damages

  • Consequential damages

  • Loss of income

  • Emotional distress

  • Travel losses

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Heartventures from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

  • Your participation in a retreat

  • Your breach of these Terms

  • Your violation of any law or third-party rights

11. Intellectual Property

All retreat materials, exercises, frameworks, and written content are proprietary to Heartventures.

You may not reproduce or distribute them without written consent.

12. Privacy

Your use of our website and services is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the federal laws of Canada.

Any dispute shall first be attempted to be resolved through good faith negotiation.

If unresolved, disputes shall be handled in the courts of Nova Scotia.

14. Modifications

We may update these Terms at any time.

Continued use of the website or participation in our retreats constitutes acceptance of any updated Terms.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
